I came up with this tangle by playing with the tangle Fungees. Then I got an idea because my mess up looked like a mushroom cap. I always wanted to tangle mushrooms but never figured how to make them into a tangle till now. From one fungi to another I used CZT® Leslie Crumpler’s Fungees tangle to come up with my Shooms. It starts off the same way with wavy lines but instead of a bell shape that spans two rows, it starts with the curve of the cap of the mushroom on just one row. The bell shape is drawn in the row below it making the stalk of the mushroom. To complete the shape, I draw the lines connecting the cap to the stalk to create the underneath of the mushroom cap. I add in the gill lines and they look just right.
I like them shaded. The shading adds to the curve of the cap of the mushrooms and I use a darker shade for the gills. I just shaded the gills in the step out example. The second example has the shading I like the most.
